Co-founder Donna Ludington brings a wealth of experience to Professor Medicare. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, she has traveled the world and enjoys bringing her multi-cultural experience to Medicare. Growing up as the daughter of physicians, she has been involved in healthcare and human services for most of her life. When her father, a surgeon, visited the Hill Tribes in northern Thailand, an 11-year-old Donna served as his surgical assistant. Later, in Los Angeles, she managed a center that served abandoned and abused children. She often found herself in dangerous, life-threatening situations.
She and Craig met when they both worked at the Pritikin Longevity Center in Santa Monica. After a three-year courtship, they went out on a limb and created a wholesale gift and jewelry business. From a $3000 investment in 1990, they developed Sumitra and moved to Denver in 1991. Sumitra found a home at the Denver Merchandise Mart.
They distributed gifts, jewelry, and clothing items from around the world via two showrooms at the Mart. After 12 years, they sold Sumitra and were off on a new adventure in San Diego County. But Colorado called, and they moved to Boulder in 2010.
In 2011, they started Professor Medicare and have enjoyed working with thousands of seniors since. Donna is a skilled listener, and she makes her clients the #1 focus as she finds each one the best plan for their needs.
She co-authored “Professor Medicare’s Easy Guide to Medicare.”
